Mindray North America has completed a 46,314-square-foot warehouse expansion at its New Jersey headquarters, more than doubling the distribution space available as the medical-device company consolidates previously off-site logistics operations.

The addition takes Mindray’s warehouse in Mahwah to 80,979 square feet and completes a project that broke ground in June 2025.

Rather than adding a separate distribution site, Mindray is using the expansion to bring dispersed operations into its existing North American headquarters.

That consolidation is the central operational change behind the project.

Mindray says operating from one location will simplify shipping and order fulfillment, including reducing instances in which customer orders have to be split across shipments.

The company also expects the consolidation to reduce trucking activity and its associated carbon footprint. It has not disclosed truck-volume or emissions data that would quantify those expected reductions.

The physical expansion provides more than additional storage floor area.

Donnelly Construction, the project’s contractor, says the steel and precast-concrete addition includes three new loading dock bays.

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems were also coordinated around maximizing warehouse racking capacity, according to the contractor.

Mindray has not disclosed the resulting number of pallet positions or total inventory capacity.

A lithium-battery vault is another specialized component of the project.

Mindray disclosed the feature when construction began in 2025, identifying it as part of the expansion’s safety infrastructure. The company has not published the vault’s dimensions or storage capacity.

Donnelly also identifies 12 electric-vehicle charging stations among the project features. Arcari + Iovino Architects designed the expansion.

The enlarged warehouse supports a broader medical-device portfolio rather than a static distribution operation.

Mindray supplies equipment across perioperative care, medical imaging and critical care. The company has added a ventilator line and says further product-category extensions are planned over the next 18 months.

That product growth increases the significance of bringing additional storage and distribution capacity online at the same time.

Mindray President Wayne Quinn described the project as a multi-million-dollar investment in the company’s North American supply-chain infrastructure.

A precise construction or investment value has not been disclosed.

The company expects the expanded warehouse to improve operational efficiency and shorten delivery times, but those remain expectations rather than measured post-opening results.

The September opening nevertheless completes the physical capacity increase projected when Mindray broke ground on June 17, 2025.

At that point, the company planned a 46,314-square-foot addition taking the warehouse to 80,979 square feet and targeted completion in 2026. The finished building has reached those stated dimensions.

What has not emerged is a detailed automation specification.

Mindray refers to advanced operational technology in the enlarged warehouse, but neither the company nor supporting project documentation identifies an ASRS, robotics platform, conveyor or sortation system.

No warehouse management system provider or automated picking technology has been disclosed either.

The facility therefore should not be characterized as an automated warehouse on the information currently available.

Its logistics significance instead comes from consolidation and capacity.

By absorbing previously off-site functions into an 80,979-square-foot warehouse at its headquarters, Mindray is concentrating more of its North American medical-device distribution infrastructure at a single New Jersey location.

The three additional loading docks, racking-oriented building design and specialized battery-storage infrastructure provide tangible changes to the site’s logistics capacity, even though Mindray has not quantified the resulting throughput or storage gains.

The expansion also leaves several operational questions unanswered.

Mindray has not disclosed its total dock count after construction, clear height, pallet positions, SKU capacity, trailer parking or the amount of off-site warehouse space being replaced.

Nor has it quantified changes in delivery times, fulfillment performance or transportation activity since consolidation.

Those measures will ultimately show what the additional space delivers operationally.

For now, the completed project gives Mindray the physical infrastructure it planned when construction began: an 80,979-square-foot headquarters warehouse designed to centralize North American logistics while creating capacity for a medical-device portfolio that is continuing to expand.
