Camco Chemical is adding a 130,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center to its Northern Kentucky campus, expanding the downstream logistics infrastructure supporting its contract-manufacturing operation.
The building will occupy 14 remaining acres at Camco’s Holton Drive campus in Independence and will be integrated with the company’s existing manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and fulfillment operations.
RSA Properties LLC, the Camco family’s real estate entity, is developing the project, with Furlong Building serving as contractor.
The investment adds another layer of distribution capacity to a site where warehousing is already a substantial part of Camco’s operating model.
Camco says it established an approximately 300,000-square-foot building dedicated to finished-goods warehousing and order fulfillment during an earlier expansion of its Northern Kentucky operations.
The company also implemented a warehouse management system supporting inventory control, tracking and traceability.
The newly announced building is therefore not Camco’s first dedicated warehouse. It extends an existing model in which manufacturing and packaging are connected with storage, fulfillment and distribution within the company’s broader operation.
Camco President and CEO Adrian Hothem said customers increasingly require those services to be provided together as they manage more complex supply chains.
For Camco, which manufactures products for industrial, commercial and consumer-goods customers, the new building is intended to provide additional physical capacity on the distribution side of that service offering.
The company has not quantified the increase.
No pallet-position count, inventory capacity, expected order volume, warehouse throughput or truck movements have been disclosed for the 130,000-square-foot facility. An investment value and opening timetable also have not been announced.
The building’s technology is similarly unspecified.
Camco has disclosed the use of a WMS in its existing warehousing operation, but has not identified the software provider or said whether the new distribution center will use the same platform.
There is also no confirmed disclosure of ASRS, autonomous mobile robots, conveyors, automated forklifts or other warehouse automation planned for the new building.
The project’s current significance is therefore one of physical distribution expansion rather than a disclosed automation deployment.
The addition follows a separate investment in Camco’s Northern Kentucky operation.
In 2024, Kentucky officials announced a $3 million expansion involving building and equipment improvements at what the state described at the time as Camco’s 586,000-square-foot facility.
That earlier project was expected to add 30 full-time jobs and increase manufacturing production.
Those figures do not apply to the new distribution center.
Camco has not disclosed an employment commitment for the 2026 project, and the new building is being presented specifically as additional warehousing and distribution infrastructure rather than the manufacturing-focused expansion announced two years earlier.
Taken together, the projects show investment occurring on both sides of Camco’s operating footprint.
The earlier expansion increased manufacturing capacity. The latest project adds space intended to support fulfillment and distribution around those production operations.
That sequence is relevant for a contract manufacturer whose customer proposition extends beyond making and packaging products.
Camco’s company history describes warehousing and fulfillment as established capabilities, including dedicated finished-goods storage and inventory traceability. The new 130,000-square-foot building gives that operation additional physical room to expand without separating distribution from the existing campus.
How that space will be configured remains an open question.
Camco has not disclosed clear height, dock count, trailer parking, pallet capacity, hazardous-material storage configuration or material-handling equipment for the facility. It also has not provided a construction completion date or operational launch schedule.
Those details will determine the practical capacity of the expansion.
For now, the project establishes a clear shift in where Camco’s latest Northern Kentucky investment is being directed: after expanding manufacturing in 2024, the company is adding a dedicated 130,000-square-foot building to extend the warehousing, fulfillment and distribution infrastructure supporting that production base.
