FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation has reorganised its endoscopy operations in northern New Jersey by opening a dedicated warehouse in Fairfield, a move intended to free capacity at its existing service centre in Wayne rather than simply add storage space.
The 18,000-square-foot facility began operating in May 2026 and was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 18. According to the company, warehouse operations have been relocated from Wayne to Fairfield, enabling the Wayne location to expand its specialist endoscopy service centre to approximately 1.5 times its previous size.
That operational separation is the project’s defining feature. Rather than combining logistics and technical servicing under one roof, Fujifilm has established dedicated facilities for inventory handling and equipment servicing, with the company saying the additional space in Wayne will support a larger technician workforce and increased service capacity.
The company expects the reconfigured operation to improve service efficiency, optimise turnaround times and strengthen technical support for healthcare providers using its endoscopy systems across the United States. However, Fujifilm did not disclose baseline service metrics, repair volumes or performance targets, making it impossible to independently assess the scale of those anticipated improvements.
While the Fairfield warehouse supports Fujifilm’s growing U.S. endoscopy business, the company has released few operational details about the facility itself. It did not disclose the warehouse’s address, ownership status, investment value, storage capacity, loading configuration or inventory profile. Nor did it specify whether the site will handle spare parts, loaner devices, replacement equipment or returned products.
That distinction is significant because the company continues to identify Wayne—not Fairfield—as the location of its endoscopy service operation. Although the warehouse provides additional logistics capacity, Fujifilm has not indicated that medical-device repairs will be carried out at the new facility.
Medical-device support operations differ from conventional warehousing because they must coordinate equipment movements alongside specialised servicing. Fujifilm’s customer-support network includes repair centres in New Jersey and California offering repair, preventive maintenance, loaner tracking and inventory-management services, although the company has not confirmed which of those functions are managed from Fairfield.
The expansion comes as manufacturers of clinical equipment continue investing in after-sales support infrastructure alongside product sales. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, medical-device servicing plays an important role in maintaining devices to their original safety and performance specifications, highlighting the operational importance of dedicated repair and logistics networks.
Tai Fujita, senior vice president of Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation’s U.S. Endoscopy Division, described the Fairfield opening as part of the company’s broader investment in infrastructure, workforce and customer support as demand for endoscopy services continues to evolve. Those comments reflect the company’s strategic objectives rather than independently verified operational outcomes.
Although Fujifilm has not disclosed investment costs, future repair capacity or targeted turnaround improvements, the project establishes a more specialised two-site operating model in New Jersey. By relocating warehouse operations to Fairfield, the company has created additional capacity for technical servicing in Wayne while retaining both logistics and repair functions within the same regional network.
