Kenco showcases GreyOrange Warehouse Orchestration

Kenco Innovation Lab showcasing GreyOrange warehouse orchestration technology for fulfillment operations.

Kenco is using its Innovation Lab to showcase GreyOrange’s warehouse orchestration technology, giving customers a hands-on setting to evaluate how automation can be coordinated across warehouse workflows.

GreyOrange announced that Kenco’s Innovation Lab is featuring its AI-powered warehouse orchestration capabilities. GreyOrange company material identifies the focus as GreyOrange’s GreyMatter platform and its role in orchestrating warehouse operations.

The story is notable because the demonstration is not positioned as a single robotics deployment. It centers on orchestration: the software layer that coordinates automation, people, inventory and warehouse processes across different operational steps.

GreyOrange said in supporting company material that the expanded Kenco Innovation Lab allows visitors to see GreyMatter coordinating a single order journey across goods-to-person picking, outbound sortation, point-to-point material handling and case picking. Those workflow details come from GreyOrange company material and should be treated as company-source claims.

Kenco’s own newsroom separately lists a September 2026 debut for a 30,000-square-foot Innovation Lab designed for hands-on supply-chain OEM testing and demonstration. That setting is important for 3PL customers because automation decisions often depend on operational fit, integration complexity and workflow economics rather than isolated equipment performance.

For logistics providers, orchestration has become a practical question as warehouses add robotics, sortation, mobile automation, labor systems and inventory platforms in the same building. The issue is not only whether a robot, conveyor or picking system works, but whether the combined operation can adapt to order profiles, labor availability and customer-specific requirements.

GreyOrange has framed GreyMatter as the platform connecting those layers. A prior report on the Kenco-GreyOrange relationship described a broader partnership to deploy GreyMatter across Kenco’s fulfillment center network, with the platform coordinating people, robots and warehouse processes.

GreyOrange has also claimed operational gains from the partnership, including a 20% transportation cost reduction, a 30% drop in pallets per order and a doubling of cases picked per hour at one site. Those figures were not independently verified in the reviewed material and should be read as company claims.

The Kenco lab gives those claims a customer-facing venue. Instead of asking shippers or logistics executives to assess automation from slides or vendor demos alone, the lab is positioned as a place to test and observe how orchestration performs across connected fulfillment activities.

The available material does not establish a cold-storage, refrigeration or cold-chain angle. It also does not disclose the full set of hardware vendors, WMS or ERP integrations, capital investment, or the specific customer site tied to the reported performance improvements.

Even with those gaps, the warehouse automation relevance is clear. Kenco’s showcase reflects a broader operational priority for 3PLs: making automation more configurable, more demonstrable and easier to evaluate before customers commit to a warehouse design or technology roadmap.
